Review of The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club by Duncan Whitehead

The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking ClubThe Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club by Duncan Whitehead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Don’t be put off by the title, as I almost was. It is an excellent story and full of black humour. The Gordonston ladies meet every afternoon in the park, where their dogs play together. The ladies sit at a table, sipping their cocktails discreetly hidden in plastic cups, and discussing the latest antics of their neighbours. All very innocent or so it seems on the surface, but everyone has their own secrets, including murder. Many twists and turns keep you guessing right to the end. I do feel that the book would have benefitted from another editing, to remove some of the repetitious wording, but still a good read.
