Review of Flash of Monochrome by Jonah Becker

Flash of MonochromeFlash of Monochrome by Jonah Becker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is one of those thought provoking novels. Are there really human scavengers who seek out dead bodies in the desert surrounding the borders of Mexico and the US? looking for the poor souls who don’t quite make it to the land of plenty. Do these people just die of heat exhaustion and dehydration, or are they murdered? Are the ‘coyotes’ who lead them doing it because they want to help or are they drug trafficking? Noon, the main character and Gayle from the County Medical Examiners Office join forces to uncover the answers. The characters are believable and the story held my interest right to the end. I particularly liked the last chapter, it left me wanting more.
